Commiserate all you like with the Palestinian people, feel their sorrow and their shame, lament the indignities they suffer, bewail the poverty they experience, insist they need a state of their own, argue forcefully that Israel, too, needs for the Palestinians to have a state. Do all that, but eventually you bump into as depressing a bottom line as there is: the Palestinians.
By which I mean that no group or people has ever matched the Palestinians for unproductive – make that counter-productive – behavior.
